ARTHUR E. RANDLE

(1859 – 1929)

Real estate tycoon. Born in Artesia, MS he was educated in the local schools and later attended the University of Pennsylvania. He came to Washington in 1885. He was president of the U.S. Realty Company and founded the communities of Randle Highlands and Congress Heights, in D.C.; and Randle, Lincoln, and Randle Cliff Beach, in Maryland. He donated the land for Randle School and his house, known as the “Little White House” is located nearby on Pennsylvania Avenue S.E.
