Dr. Samuel A.H. McKim b. 1826 - d. 26 Jul 1900 Range 70 Site 98 | |

When President Lincoln called for volunteers in 1861 Dr. McKim was one of the first to respond. He organized a company and was mustered in as captain. During his service he was stationed at the Benning bridge. After the war, Dr. McKim was the first surgeon appointed to do duty in the Metropolitan Police Department. He held this position for more than twenty-five years. | |
