Most of the death certificates in our archives has been digitized and converted to PDF format. The majority of the certificates are for the period 1884 to 1886, with a few certificates from the early 20th century. The certificates have been alphabetized. Click on the letter of the alphabet that is of interest to you for a list of names.

The electronic copies were made from photocopies of the original and in some cases are difficult to decipher. You may wish to contact the District of Columbia Vital Records Division. Requests can be made in writing to:
