Blessing of the Animals, Sunday October 3rd at 2:00 PM

Our pets are important to us and we all want to make sure they are safe and happy.  Please join us for this special occassion lead by Cara Spaccarelli, Rector of Christ Church+ Washington Parish.  Dogs must be on leash, all other animals in appropriate containers.

Come in the main gate at 18th and   Potomac/E Street, SE.

Celebration Concert

Join us as we rededicate our century-old and recently restored chapel organ, with a concert by Charles Humphries. Charles is a world renowned musician and counter-tenor, and we welcome him to the HCC fold! Admission is free and refreshments will be served.

Wine and Cheese Lecture: "Death, Dogs and Monuments," by Smithsonian Anthropologist, Laurie Burgess

 Associate Chair of the Anthropology Department at the Smithsonian, Laurie Burgess, will be giving the second lecture in our Wine and Cheese Lecture Series. Entitled, "Death, Dogs and Monuments," Dr. Burgess will be enlightening the audience as to the history of Congressional Cemetery, in a very unique and fascinating way.

Join us for a special evening to celebrate the Native Americans buried at Congressional Cemetery.

We will begin with a walking tour of some of the most prominent graves, including Choctaw Chief Push-ma-ta-ha and Cherokee statesman Willam Shorey Coodey. Then join us at the cemetery chapel for music and stories with Tim Tingle of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Wine and cheese will be served.
