Congressional Cemetery is a privately owned Cemetery, and is not affiliated with any national, state or local VA Cemetery. Although Congressional is considered the first National Burial Ground, we are not a part of the national network of Veterans Cemeteries.

Congressional Cemetery welcomes Veterans who wish to purchase a burial place; however, since we are not a VA Cemetery, veterans must pay all associated purchase and burial expenses.
