Wine and Cheese Lecture
Special Guest Julia Sienkewicz will present the history of Congressional Cemetery. From the first burial in 1807 (a stonemason working on the new Capitol building) through 200 years of Washingtonians notorious (J. Edgar Hoover), heroic (Alexander Macomb), beloved (John Philip Sousa) and infamous (John Wilkes Booth co-conspirator David Herold). Lecture begins at 6:00pm, at the Cemetery Chapel, followed by wine and cheese in the gatehouse. Admission is FREE. No reservations necessary.
